Echoes

"Climbing was tough at times but never as tough as working in a prison block".  Nick Bullock discusses escaping his life as a prison officer in a high security jail, for life as a professional mountaineer.  A thought-provoking reflection on freedom and risk filmed at the Outside Cafe by Peak District based film-makers 'Polished Project' during the launch of Nick's acclaimed book 'Echoes'

(Note - Nick will be opening the 2013 ShAFF with a talk at 19.15 Friday 1 March.  His lecture will cover material from his acclaimed book 'Echoes', published by Sheffield’s Vertebrate Publishing, including first ascents in Peru and insights into life as a prison guard. He also hopes to include his ascent of the Slovak Direct on Denali in 2012 with Andy Houseman, and some recent action in Scottish winter and on Welsh rock.  After the talk, Nick will be signing copies of his book.  Read Guardian review)
