Walled In
Adventure kayakers Ben Stookesberry and Chris Korbulic attempt the first successful run of the the Marble Fork with the support of their climbing friends Forrest Noble and Jared Johnson.
With more drop that the face of El Capitan and a route that is steeper than the cable route up Half Dome, and no potential for escape from the 2,000 ft river canyon in the Sierra Nevada mountains, their mission involved an eight-day portage and vertical epic of establishing a sporty big-wall traverse. Not to mention that Chris has a shoulder injury from a mountain bike accident!
Superbly narrated by Ben Stookesberry, for us the film's strength lies in the athletes genuine doubt over whether it really is feasible to tick off the Impossible Gorge section, long considered un-runnable by the kayak world.
Clear H2O Films also produced 'Kadoma', the heart-rending story of legendary kayaker and friend of Ben, Hendri Coetzee which we screened at the Buxton Adventure Festival 2013 and ShAFF 2012.
