Peaty's Steel City Downhill
Sheffield's first ever downhill mountain bike race will take place on the Saturday of the ShAFF weekend. More details here.
Sheffield's own Downhill World Champion and multiple World Cup Winner, Steve Peat, presents the city's first official Mini Downhill race, in association with the Wildlife Trust and ThisISheffield.co.uk.
Held in aid of the Greno Woods appeal, the event will be held in Grenoside Woods, Sheffield on the 5th March 2011. Open to all ages from 10 years and up, the race track is fast and flowing, suiting mid travel trail bikes and riders who can carry speed!
This inaugural Steel City Series race is organised by ThisISheffield.co.uk, with professional timing provided by MIJ Events.
Freecaster.tv will be covering the event, producing a full length feature hosted by the inimitable Rob Warner. This will include coverage of the whole track, top ten race runs with commentary, interviews, helmet and cable cameras... and a Course Walk with Rob himself.
There are prizes from Royal, SRAM, 18 bikes, The Bike Tree, O'Neal, Polaris, Five Ten, Cotic, Chromag, Smartwool, Monster, Arcteryx and many more.
