Derby Crazy Love
“You're in roller skates, and you're hitting people. You definitely have to be a little crazy to play this sport." Welcome to the world of women's roller derby. Derby Crazy Love is an adrenaline inducing ride through the subculture of women's roller derby, featuring Montreal's New Skis on the Block, London Roller Girls and NYC's Gotham Girls.
The craze died out in the 1970s but since 2000 has been enjoying a revival, growing hugely in popularity, developing organically with no governing body or leagues. This documentary is a fun-filled, fast-paced introduction to the sport following some of the leading lights in the run up to the Montreal team, New Skids on the Block's biggest battle yet against the London Rollergirls.
