Danny will present the films that have made him a YouTube phenomenon including:

  • Inspired Bicycles (2009) - Over 35 million views and counting.
  • Way Back Home (2010) - Over 33 million views and counting.
  • Industrial Revolutions (2011) - Over 8 million views and counting.
  • Imaginate (2013) - Over 25 million views and counting.
  • Epecuen (2014) – Over 5 million views and counting.

He’ll then do an audience Q&A session hosted by ShAFF judge and cycling journalist Nik Cook.

From 13.00 to 15.00 there will be a chance to watch two other amazing Red Bull extreme sports films:

  • The Unrideables – Alaska Range (46 min) Speedriding is redefining what is possible in the mountains. A hybrid of speed-glider parachute flight and skiing, it allows the athletes to ski treacherous, previously inaccessible terrain; places where deadly cliffs and crevasses mean that an aerial exit is the only way out.  This film follows American Jon Devore, the world’s foremost human flight specialist, on his ambitious mission to bring speedriding to the high peaks of the Alaska Range.  Watch trailer.
  • Days of My Youth (1h 1 min) A new film that examines every skier’s lifelong affinity for the sport. Narrated to the prolific readings of Alan Watts, this film exposes the many joys and occasional struggles associated with a lifestyle built around skiing. Red Bull filmed a cast of skiing’s modern day superstars over two years using state of the art techniques and technologies, this movie offers a unique glimpse into the journey of self-discovery that every skier experiences.  Watch trailer.

Two of Danny’s latest hits, including The Ridge, his hair-raising ride along the knife-edge Cuillin Ridge on his home island of Skye, will be screened as part of ShAFF’s Mountain Bike film sessions.

Danny also features in our Road Cycling Film session in the documentary about the making of Road Bike Party 2.  He stepped in with Yorkshire rider Chris Akrigg to help fellow cyclist Martyn Ashton to complete the making of the sequel to his hit film after Martyn was paralysed in a stunt show part way through filming.  (Martyn will also be at ShAFF, having been nominated for the new Contribution to Adventure Film And Photography Award).
