Would you like to see your film on the big screen?

Why not have a go at making an Adventure Short?

Prizes: 2 X GoPro Cameras & accessories..

Hope Valley Adventure Film Festival (HVAFF) is teaming up with the Sheffield Adventure Film Festival (ShAFF), GoPro, Showroom Cinema and Into Film this year to run the Youth Adventure Short film competition.

There are two competition categories. Anyone under 18 can enter and be in the running for the Best Film Over All prize – this will be decided by an independent judge from Into Film.
There is also a prize for the Best Film by a HVAFF Student (voted for by the visitors to HVAFF - Sat 27th Feb).

A GoPro camera will be awarded in both categories. In the event of one entry winning both awards the second camera will be awarded to the runner up for the Best Overall Film. There will also be GoPro accessories awarded as spot prizes.

The films will all be shown at HVAFF and the Best film Overall will be shown at SHAFF on the big screen (March 11-13).

Rules & Guidelines

  • You must be under 18 to enter and you will need to produce a short film – maximum 3 minutes long showing any of the outdoor adventures you are involved in and inspired by. For example …climbing, cycling, unicycling, skiing, skating, sledging, orienteering, running, skateboarding; the list could go on and on. You can use animation or models as long as there is an adventure story at its heart.
  • Entries should be submitted by upload onto the upload site by Friday 19th Feb 2016. Please email your supporting documents to piers@pierscarter.co.uk and matt@heason.net.
  • Upload site: https://www.hightail.com/u/ShAFF.
  • The film should be entertaining, fun and express the creative way in which you experience the outdoors.
  • To have your film screened at ShAFF you will need written permission from anybody who appears in the film or was involved in the making of the film. This is very good film-making practice. These people should be listed as part of the credits at the end of the film, using first names only. Anybody under the age of 18 will need written permission of a parent or guardian. You can download a blank permission form here.
  • We’d also like you to include logos for HVAFF, ShAFF, GoPro, Showroom Cinema and Into Film somewhere in the film. The logos are available here
  • Ensure you have permission for all music in your film. We strongly recommend that you use copyright free music in your film to avoid paying any licence fees. If shortlisted we will require proof of your permission. A music cue sheet is available here . Please submit this with the film. Examples of websites for music are:

You must use new content – no material or films from previous festivals can be submitted
